How would you explain your research in 3 sentences to someone who is not in science?
I study how stress, anxiety, and emotional burnout affect college students, especially those under heavy academic pressure or feeling socially isolated. My research examines how simple practices, such as yoga, breathing exercises, and mindfulness, can contribute to improved mental health. The goal is to find easy, affordable ways to help students feel stronger, calmer, and more focused in their daily lives.
More about you.
I am a passionate advocate for mental health in academic settings with a background in Yoga Therapy. My journey into the scientific exploration of yogic science began during my time as a student of Yoga Therapy at SVYASA University in Bangalore, where I received a strong foundation in both traditional wisdom and evidence-based approaches to yoga as a holistic therapeutic discipline. My curiosity lies in bridging traditional healing practices with modern scientific research to make mental health care more holistic and culturally relevant. I enjoy working on interdisciplinary projects that combine education, health, and social change, and I’m deeply committed to improving youth mental well-being.
About your work.
My current work investigates the impact of yoga and other mind-body interventions on mental health outcomes among students, such as stress, depression, anxiety, and academic burnout. I study how these interventions influence biomarkers like cortisol levels as well as psychological parameters such as emotional resilience, focus, and well-being. Through evidence-based case studies and large-scale student surveys, my research aims to inform educational institutions and health policymakers about integrating yoga into mental health strategies.
