How would you explain your research in 3 sentences to someone who is not in Science?
I’m investigating how yoga can help people with type 1 diabetes manage their condition. My research aims to understand if yoga practices can improve blood sugar control and overall quality of life for individuals living with this chronic disease. As well as caregivers overall wellbeing after adapting yoga.
About your work?
My master’s dissertation focused on hypomenorrhea, where we developed and validated a yoga-based intervention module for women experiencing this condition. Now in PhD we are conducting a randomized controlled trial (RCT) investigating the efficacy of a yoga intervention for children with type 1 diabetes and their caregivers. The study will assess the impact of yoga on molecular, psychological, and well-being outcomes, comparing intervention and control groups.
