Tell briefly about yourself.

I have completed my B.Sc in Zoology (Hons) from the University of Delhi, followed by a Master’s in Life Sciences from the Central University of Punjab. I pursued my research from the National Institute of Immunology (NII), New Delhi, and the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. I have more than 6 years of research and 1.5 years of policy experience with more than two dozen publications in National & International Journals. I have also served as a Policy Professional at the Department of Science & Technology, GoI, New Delhi, for 1.5 years. I was part of the STIP secretariat, where I contributed to the formulation of India’s 5th Science, Technology & Innovation Policy. I am an experienced Research Scholar with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Aims to improve the Indian education system. I believe in “Work for a cause, not for applause”. I am a strong, direct, and honest person with self-motivated thoughts.

How was your experience in the Neuroscience Research Lab? How did it contribute to your academic or professional development?

I was part of the NRL team for around 4 years. It acted as a transition between my academic and professional development. It significantly enhanced my research writing and management skills.

What was your PhD thesis in or research work? Timeline?

I worked on a mouse model of PPA. My research contributed to the understanding of the neuroprotective role of Allium cepa in curing damaged Retinal Ganglion Cells (RGCs). Such damages/losses are generally the hallmarks of optic neuropathies.
