RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS:
- Revealed new insights into the role of genetic susceptibility variants associated with AMD – complement factor H (CFH)
- Identified novel genes, such as the neural retina-specific (Nrl) gene – plays a major role in retinal development and pathogenesis of RP
- Discovery of the gene CEP290 linked with early-onset degenerative retinal disease –Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA)
